클라이밍테크놀로지 클릭업으로 후등자 확보

클라이밍테크놀로지의 클릭업을 아주 잘 쓰고 있습니다. 등산장비는 심플한 게 최고라는 주의라.

그리그리는 안 쓰고 가격이나 쓰기에 좋은 물건으로 선정해 클라이밍 외벽 등반 때 잘 쓰고 있는데

이 물건을 암벽등반에 쓰기에 좋은 물건인가 의문은 많이 들었습니다. 왜냐하면 후등자 확보용으로 확신이 안 들었기 때문인데

검색을 통해 보니 (수입원으로 추정되는) 어느 분이 클릭업을 후등자 확보용으로 쓴다고 하여 센터에서 실험도 해봤더랬죠.

실제로 제동도 잘 되는 편이지만...

이 방법을 알면 메뉴얼에도 있을텐데 왜 매뉴얼에 없지? 의문이 들어 직접 클라이밍테크놀로지사에 이메일을 보냈습니다.

개판 5분전 영어로 질문을 보냈는데 3일이 되도록 답이 없어 "영어가 개판이어서 답을 안 보내주나.."했더니

답신이 이렇게 왔습니다.

thank you for your question about our Click Up.

Regarding your request  to use the Click Up to belay the second climber as shown in the picture : 

 

This method to belay the second you show is absolutely prohibited.
First because is not show in the user instruction and second because it's possibly and potentially dangerous.

Nobody is authorised to show a different  use mode of the CT gear, without prior approval of ALUDESIGN.

The only method allowed to belay the second from the belay station with Click Up is this one show in the UI :

7.3 - Belaying the second up to a stance (Fig. 6.2).
The belayer should be belayed at the stance below the stance’s anchor with its karabiner. Install the device as in paragraph 5.1 and put it into locking mode as described in paragraph 5.2. Clip the second’s rope into the karabiner at the stance and start to take in rope as the second climbs as described in paragraph 7.1. Attention! Make sure that you’re always holding the free end of the rope. If the climbing partner (second climber) takes up the lead (“leads through”) after reaching the stance, the device is already ready to belay them, after having unblocked the Click Up as described in paragraph 5.3. The rope is already passed through the belay’s karabiner and everything is ready for belaying the leader on the next pitch.
